When the framers were writing the new Constitution, they had to hold their nose and compromise on slavery, accepting the fact that the institution would have to end eventually, but realizing the more immediate goal of expelling the British was more important.
It's the same here. I don't agree with BLM on most of their platform, but I agree wholeheartedly that mandates are wrong, and will be exploited by racists to exclude Americans from public life based on the color of their skin.
So I'll hold my nose and accept that the arguments about policing will have to be discussed at another time, potentially using the opportunity to discuss reasonable compromises.
Hell, just an example, if poor urban families had access to firearms so they could defend themselves from criminals, they wouldn't need as many cops...
