I am. He is correct. But you don't have to be German to study history, as you obviously havent. It's widely known that "Nazi" was a perjorative used by the media and Allied powers. So no, no actual member of the NATSOC party used that term for themselves - just like no imperial Japanese called themselves "jap". I suppose you wont be convinced though until you can get an actual Japanese to confirm.
If we are getting into the semantics of "Nazi" the literal term being used that hardly matters. I met folks that identified as National Socialists both because they were and because they felt they had to.
I lived outside of Munchen for a year. I walked through Munchen by the Hofbrauhaus and saw where Hitler sat etc. Visited people outside of Dachau to find out what living next to it was like.
