The physical stage itself has had a makeover in the past several months. I think the fact that people don’t recognize the old, yellowish carpet has caused confusion. There used to be a ramp on the right hand side of the stage (stage right) - or - the portion of the stage seen in the above photo that is now covered in that fake hardwood flooring.

But Trump would have various backdrops/flags depending on what was being presented at the time. Trump is also a little more reserved in his presentation (when it comes to politics) so the stage usually only had a curtain and various flags.
