In a scene in the movie, police were investigating a crime and suddenly FBI agents showed up, were highly respected... and actually began helping and solving the crime.

I realized while watching that how far things have fallen.

This has been going on since likely the 50's. This is only a gut feeling, I have no evidence, I will add that to the historic site I am making if I ever find evidence.
