Not to disagree, but their behavior is a betrayal of our trust in them. The punishment must fit the crime.

Strip them AND their family (once and twice removed as well) of everything and send them to some foreign hell hole, no passport and no coming back.

What you don't punish you will get more of. We've let it go too far.
