Trump thought about that, said he didn't like it and FIRED the person on the spot, called it disrespectful. I, for one, would like to request we cease using this derogatory term. There is no Q-tard. There is no sub-category here. It is poison *(in my humble opinion). WWG1WGA - together, no splits, no elitism.

I think this is a good point. I don't mind it in context of "we will see who the retards turn out to be". But I see it being used on here as an insult to people on here, rather than as an inverted insult, a proud badge. I am a Qtard to my enemies, surely to my fellow travellers I am something else? Like I say, I don't know, but I agree mostly shills are using it to belittle slyly. A retard is stupid, I ain't stupid, so I don't like it.
I can understand the counter point others are making though.
To me it's like black ppl being proud of the word nigger. Nigger this nigger that, ma nigger etc. I think it lessens those that use it in both senses now - in a way the word only has one meaning even though there are two claims on it - someone who revels in debased behavior, like willful ignorance.
I could be wrong
I've seen that a lot too. People I know are shills calling others qtards with their usual malice. All using it does is help them blend in. It makes it hard to distinguish friend from foe. An inverted insult won't do that.
I'd also disagree that many blacks flipped their slur. It's not flipped at all. Just an MSM lie. Many Leftists still call them that behind their backs. You know the elite to this day say it with a sneer. If it had been flipped (like rappers and the media try to say) the DS not-so-elite wouldn't use it so often when they think no one is listening. Blacks were just duped into thinking they'd flipped it because the media told them they had and made examples of a few whites for saying it.
Just like feminists spread the lie that they made b***h an empowering word. No, they didn't. It's still used by many as an insult. When insults flip, they're no longer insults.
When you flip an insult it organically becomes a proud term for your side. That's because it gives you pride to embrace it. In the revolutionary war the US side trolled the hell out of the British soldiers with "Yankee Doodle". That song was meant to mock how stupid and uncool yanks were, but it backfired on the British and became ours. We sing it proudly to this day. When an insult is successfully inverted no one will question it.
Deplorables was flipped and we own it. The Left stays ten feet away from that term. Flipped insults actually happen pretty naturally and rapidly. Just look at the Left still trying to astroturf Karen into a flip. They can only get it so far. Both sides are still using it. When a flip is successful the other side drops the term immediately like its poison. You don't have to scare them out of it.
We know Qtard is not flipped because the other side take such childish glee in using it. Contrary to MSM myth terms don't slowly flip, they actually flip really fast. From the moment the term "Proud deplorable" first appeared it was embraced fast. It became ours rapidly and you never heard a Leftists say it ever again.
Good analysis. Outside of Q-positive circles Qtard is definitely an insult, and I have seen it here more often as an insult than ironic pride, often by handshakers making their lame uninformed adhominem laced points.
This was a great post. It's getting a lot of upvotes too. I think we've needed to have this discussion for a while.
I don't care one bit if "an enemy" uses it as an insult. I am not insulted because I don't care in the least what they think.
