“They can’t fire all of them; they were already trying to “re-hire” and train new pilots to handle the shortage in the summer.”
Hey, there is a “blue-flu” sick out happening...you were correct, however the pilots aren’t walking off the job, and that was my point. However, I didn’t believe the pilots were even “sicking out,” so I was wrong with that opinion.
What you are missing is that....unless pilots are near retirement, they are not going to throw away their career. There are always summer shortages for pilots.
They are suing to get rid of the vaccine mandate. And they are refusing to comply.
We just had thousands of doctors and nurses across the country walk out of their jobs due to the vaccine mandates—you really think pilots, who have one of the most thankless jobs in the world, wouldn’t do the same?
They’ve had to put up with so much BS the past 18 months; everyone reaches their breaking point eventually.
Not to mention that there is no federal law requiring these mandates, they’re telling the airline to F off with the requirement as there’s no legal nor medical basis for it.
Now you are conflating a mass walkout (and getting fired) with a lawsuit.
Their union doing a lawsuit is fine, insubordination and getting fired is much different. ATC is more protected than pilots, and your first post implied the pilots were the cause of the delays.
You don’t know how airlines and their seniority system works....nurses and doctors can change hospitals...pilots lose much if they switch airlines.
The difference is, ATC has a federal union...they really can’t be fired....the pilots can be fired.

Lol You know nothing about ALPA or SWAPA. You are very emotional.
