Try reaching out to your 'liberal' friends and see what kind of help they may need in their day to day. Make a point of leaving politics unspoken. Let the fact that you're helping them but not bringing up politics fester in their minds.
When they eventually ask you why you're not bringing up anyway, ask them if they're willing to hear your side. When they say no, simply respond with something along the lines of, "then why bring it up?"
