I have been concerned for the past weeks as my delivery due date is getting closer. I know Polio can be letal for anybody, so I'm trap in a dilemma.
The current Polio Vax used in the States is the IPV (injectable) that contains MRC-5, while the more "ethical" OPV (oral) has long been discontinued.
I wouldn't want my baby to suffer due to polio in the future, however, the IPV (injectable) goes against my religious beliefs and is a clear catch from big pharma. They could have let the OPV one as an option, but they just wanted money.
Greedy bastards.
Any advices, alternatives?
I have a midwife in place already, however, they use Einstein Hospital as facility to deliver. I asked if I could deliver at home,, but they said it could not be possible. I made clear to my husband that he has to be with the baby at all times and no one can do anything without MY consent. He is on-board.
They have taken children away from mothers right after birth and kept them for 2 weeks. Do not go to a hospital and no you do not need a polio vaccine. WTF how many cases of polio have you seen in the US. In africa the polio vaccine crippled a half a million children that are now wheel chair bound.
There is no way to do an at home birth?
Apparently not at the moment, however, the midwife has agreed to not do any invasive procedure (injections included) on our baby as she can be liable for any injuries. Thanks to my husband's lawyer.
Excellent.
Praying for you and your little one. And your husband deserves thanks for setting up the legal stuff. If your midwife has to have doctor assistance for any reason, the doctor should be under the same agreement, as well!
Thanks for the prayers.
No vaccines, no Vitimin K shot, no ointment in baby's eyes (unless you have gonnorhea) , no hep B shot, ask for delayed cord clamping (wait for the blood to stop pulsing before clamping)
Husband and I are healthier that (according to our doctors) the average people our ages (I'm 25 y/o). No Hep A, B, C, no mental illness, no weird genes that can pass down anything. Thanks for the cord recommendation, I'll added to my written list of requirements, so my midwife can sign it.
I have everything in writing and documented.
Delayed cord clamp is important
