The natives had no clue about God himself. If the smaller tribes did at one time, the memory had been brainwashed or slaughtered out by the Inca, Maya, and Aztecs, and the following of their many Gods. Much like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans did to Europe, the Middle East, and Across half of South Asia. Of course then you have the Chinese and the Mongolians who then brought their religions from Asia by force from the other direction. So for a thousand years or more across the world, God himself was brainwashed or slaughtered out of existence until Christ arrived and not long after his apostles, and even Mohammad that changed much of the religious course of the world from Gods’ back to knowing God and his son Jesus Christ.
