I was totally submerged in this, the grief I felt after watching various films was so deep. Years later, I started reading various people's findings, then saw a series of films (now gone from YT) made by a young Jewish guy who went round Auschwitz, looked at archive plans, photos, asked questions. He was joined by Ernst Zundel and they discussed the various findings. I became a skeptic. Yes, Jews were liquidated but the gas chamber story does not stand up to scrutiny.
There was a 9 hour film called Shoah about the Holocaust which was broadcast on a commercial UK tv channel. There were no adverts in the intervals, just sombre music. The narration was by Laurence Olivier. It was gut wrenching. Years later, I watched a mockumentary on UKIP. The narration was by an actress and I was struck by the same sneering disgust in her voice that Olivier used. That's when I really started to doubt. Propaganda that engages emotions, uses fake facts and grotesque exaggerations to get people engaged and to believe blindly without questions.
I visited Krakow and was disgusted by the Auschwitz tours, people come in thousands every year, its a huge earner. Going round the Schindler factory museum I asked a staff member a question. "What factory?" was her angry reply. At first I though she was being bitchy, now I wonder it that wasn't part of the fiction. And its unlawful to question - that's the clincher. The holocaust is the $$$ motherload; nazi has become a useful word, the guilt ridden Germans have allowed their country to be overrun with muslims. Very useful control mechanism.
