Our tube had air in the end so it was necessary to push the plunger out a bit to get to the paste. Also, my Dad was dumb and didn't see the locking ring lol....he dosed for a 600 lb horse at least and his horse isn't even 1/3 of that. No side effects, still kicking......and trotting & galloping on his good days.
mine was marked in increments of 200, Im 145 but I took the full dose and all was well, just some constipation, I only took it once though so I'm not the best source. It does say on the tube not to underdose, so I think you'll be alright
The dosage for Ivermectin to my knowledge is incredibly forgiving, so regardless of an extra fifty pounds to a single dose my horse has not had any problems, assuming you don't start downing tubes like shots.
On the tube it will give you Ivermectin % and the tube weight. Ex: 1.47% Ivermectin and tube is 16g. 16g x 0.0147 = 235mg Ivermectin in the tube. Normal dose for a small horse is 6mg per 60lbs of horse. So the notches on your tube, let’s say there are 12. 235mg/12 notches = ~20mg/notch this would mean one notch would take care of a 180-200lb horse.
I don't have a horse All I have is an ass, and a fat old ass at that. I gave my fat ass the paste for 300 lbs with yogurt. No problem at all. I read that it is quite difficult to harm your horse with too much. Mixed up in the yogurt there was a very slight aftertaste but not bad at all.
I tried to eyeball the proper amount onto a silicone spoon, pushed out too much, tried to suck the excess back into the tube, said F-it and downed it straight. Not sure how much I took, but was more than I wanted. No ill effects. Didn't taste horrible, I've eaten worse.
Try to find overdoses of Ivermectin reports online. You will not find any or they will be MSM fear porn. Take it!
I've taken a full inch at a time before. Its not going to kill you. If a billion people have taken this before you and not died, how are you going to all of a sudden "win the lottery/buy the farm"?
I received some real IV in the mail from an Indian pharmacy so I thought, why not use up the paste form and make sure I am "cleaned out" Took it for like 7 days (I do not weight 1500 lbs or even 200, so it lasts a while when doing it by weight). The ONLY thing I noticed was a slight flickering in my vision going from very bright to dark areas in the house. Other than that... nothing else. That was like 2 months ago. No flickering after a week of being done. So, just watch for little things like that. I just figured it was fluorescent lights or something but it was too coincidental.
Use that "extra" for your first dose. My doses are more than a half inch of paste, maybe even 3/4 inch. So don't fret. Make sure you take your zinc too. With food. You have nothing to worry about; it's all positive!
Don't sweat it. I tried to be all exact about it too. Was very careful with dose #1. At dose #2 the plunger slid a few notches. Eh, oh well, not going to let it go to waste. And tthe vet says there's no such thing as overdosing with this stuff.

You would have to give your horse 50 full tubes at the same time to kill him. You're safe. :-)

I found this in my interwanderings.

My wife weighs about 145 and took 200-250 lbs doses with no issues.
She took 3 doses over 10 days with Covid.
I would zero it out.
I’d also squirt it into a spoon, not right into my horses mouth in case the ring slipped.

Its toxicity is very low...

If you have a digital scale, weighing out the proper amount may be easier.
Prevention: 0.2 mg/kg (0.09 mg/lb) 2 times / week
Treatment: 0.4-0.6 mg/kg (0.18-0.27 mg/lb) daily until recovered
Example:
If you weigh 160 lb and need 0.2 mg/kg for prevention,
160 * 0.2 / 2.2 / 0.0178 = 817mg (0.8 grams) of horse paste

My thinking is it will "clean you better".

Neigh and neigh.
Here's a horse, there's a horse, everywhere a horse horse...
I used it and a pea sized glob per 100 lbs of body weight worked great

Go to FLCCC and find a medical professional
Lmao as if there's a special horse formula with some extra apple and carrot extract inside.
If you buy horse paste ivermectin, at least you know it's actually ivermectin. The pills online could be anything. I hope your horse feels better!
