That is actually true. The Nazis needed a way of determining whether people were of Jewish descent or not. If someone had just one great-great-grandfather was Jewish would that be enough to make them Jewish? Where should the line be drawn?
They looked at the American "one drop rule" used to determine whether people were black or not. They ruled out the American system as being too severe! Makes you think doesn't it?
