not educated. indoctrinated. with obama's changes to student lending, there was a HUGE influx of people getting bachelors and masters in useless libart degrees. prior to then, it was very difficult to get a useless degree without mommy and daddy paying for it because lenders wouldn't pay for a subprime degree. they know those kids will never pay that back, and the default rate is 30%+ while the rest struggle to pay it with their shitty barista jobs.
I'm in the trades, blue collar workers normally have to be independent thinkers and adaptable because you not only need to know your own trade but you have to be able to pull other trades out of your ass when shit hits the fan. When someones wall falls in from rotten framing you're now a framer.
PhDs and other high skill jobs like Pilots, ATC, etc. are normally great customers, want to learn what you're doing and why you're doing it out of genuine curiosity and respect.
Bachelors and Masters are almost always shitty customers. They think they're smarter than you (I did 3 years in college and learnt multiple trades) and that means they get to tell you what to do and how to do it and then fall back on the customer is always right when they dont get their own way. It's a fucking delight when my boss says "just do whatever, just make sure to write WARRANTY VOID over their copy of the contract".
Teachers. I fucking hate. The only ones I've liked working for are retired.
PhD's are awarded for demonstrating a capability to perform research - critical thinking necessary to push back the frontiers of knowledge and add understanding and clarity to the work of those who came before them. Masters are awarded as a participation trophy for those who don't cut it in their PhD program, or for fields which are relatively static.
You can get a PhD and be a dogmatic yes-man. And you can be a critical thinker in a field where a masters are as high as it really goes. But it surprises no one that those who think and question are the ones who look at the data and say 'no', while the ones who only ever learned to regurgitate the answers their professors wanted to hear, didn't even need to see the data before deciding to say 'yes'.
And if you're sister marrying hill folk, you've met enough of those retard test studiers to know where their decision making leads that you can spot an argument made by one from a mile away and you know not to trust it. You don't need to be smart enough to make a good argument yourself, only smart enough to spot a dumb argument. And that's not hard.
They’re only “smart” in the traditional sense.
They're educated.
Let's not beat around the bush.
You can be educated and dumb and you can be uneducated and intelligent.
An education is just what you learned and retained from schooling, and that schooling -- as we all see -- is very flawed.

PhDs for reading ...I kid you not...I was amazed when I realised. They are mostly left brain people with no common sense
I'd just say they're "degreed". That's it. Most of them got out of it what they put into it. Nothing smart or educated about it.
There's a big difference between being intelligent and having wisdom.

You know you are in good company; when you are making the same conclusions with the data you have; as PhDs are making with their information.
