The action between the mRNA and “the cell” is the Ribozome making whatever is encoded in the mRNA.

It only becomes permanent if the DNA is modified to produce the spiked protein.

I know we think mankind can do this, but we can’t. We can barely splice in code edits using CRISPR/cas9, and even then, we don’t enough to do anything major like create a whole new gene.
