I find it funny how all compasses pointed to the south make more sense than compasses aiming to the north. What if the direction we are being shown is the deceptively wrong one?

Dang, obviously has missed their revisionist history when it comes to this great man. Few in the Church quite like him. Luckily he was able to appoint (recommend) some outstanding US Bishops before Frank ostracized him from any official capacity. All appointments since are a bunch of Iscariot's.
