Serious question: anyone know if there there any computers/pcs/parts/motherboards that are made in America? I want to put together a new tower system, and would prefer to buy American.
You are absolutely correct. And don't forget that the packaging for said products isn't made here, either. Many people don't realize that "made in the USA" usually means "manufactured/assembled in the USA, with components from China".
In the old days you could have built your own with parts from Radio Shack , a Tandy Corp headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Many parts were made in America. 🇺🇸
Looking forward to the day when EVERYTHING is Made in the USA

I've been running into the same thing.
RedStar OS tries to phone home to North Korea. That's just software.
It really makes me wonder who my hardware, chipset, NIC etc are communicating with, and what's being shared without my knowledge. CCP? NSA?
Sigh
