If 4 people are in a room and 3 leave, 25% (1/4) remain. That’s exactly what happened here. The tweet uses percentages b/c it sounds much worse. Saying “myself and 2 other officers left” isn’t exactly headline grabbing, even tho in this case it is a substantial portion of the force. County Sheriffs will help patrol the small city temporarily until replacement officers and hired and trained.
