I am convinced we are all God's children, not just some creation he developed, hence we are made in his own image & Jesus Christ alluded to an even stronger connection John 10:34
That said, if you are a father (or mother) you know that you would do anything to help course correct any of your children who even had a sliver of real desire to change. Probably even if they only claimed they wanted it, you would give them every single opportunity.
I ask. Would you hate your child? Can you be disappointed with someone & still love them & want what is best for them? Can a blind man ever truly appreciate the joy that comes from bright winter afternoon on the slopes of Park City, Ut or Aspen, Co? Is that blind man shielded from the paint hat comes from not wearing sun glasses on those same slopes? Can a deaf man, or even one with a moderate hearing impairment truly enjoy the full resonating sound of a symphony playing in an acoustically well designed concert hall? Should a diabetic that feels the sting of a thorn in their foot be greatful that they can feel it & get it removed before the foot is infected & needs to be removed, or would it be better to lose the feeling in their foot so they do not know?
My friend, you have been awakened so you can appreciate the joy of redemption even more than your fellows & friends who do not know the true horrors in this world. You now have the ability to appreciate the good with so much more depth than others who have only imagined it.
My Father in Heaven & God may simply love that you are doing your best & improving each day. You still struggle, though so does a toddler when they are learning to walk. Did you see that in your basic training, where many who enlisted may have never been taught how to even hold a firearm, let alone shoot with accuracy? It takes practice, and so long as you practice emulating the service & love our Savior did, you are doing just fine IMO.
My children have asked for help with video games multiple times. With my help sometimes we win, many times we fail due to their lack of fine motor functions & response times in the games. This develops with more practice (think of the analogy of practicing to catch a ball).
I love you friend. Keep practicing love, hope, service & kindness. Maybe OUR (Operation Underground Railroad) or something like it would be a good outlet for you with your background, maybe not. Though I know you are destined for greatness if you will allow yourself to see the same greatness & potential our Savior & God sees in you too.
