Plays both/all sides? I’m not sure either. One of Thiel’s firms he co-founded, Palantir Technologies raises some red flags. A co-founder and the CEO of Palantir, Alex Karp is an anti-Trump billionaire. From Wikipedia — “ Karp has described himself as a socialist[17] and a progressive, and said he voted for Hillary Clinton.[18] In 2017, he was recorded during a Palantir company meeting claiming he turned down an invitation from President Trump, saying “I respect nothing about the dude.”[19] ”
Also “ Palantir's original clients were federal agencies of the USIC. It has since expanded its customer base to serve state and local governments, as well as private companies in the financial and healthcare industries.[10] ”
From another article on “CIA-backed Palantir” (link below) — “ It may be as simple as separation of business matters with personal beliefs; however, Wikileaks revealed that Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta had indeed been in contact with Karp about Palantir choosing a political side.
“He [Karp] was asked multiple times to work with various campaigns, but in a conversation I had with him yesterday, he stated that he would make only ONE exception: HRC,” Podesta wrote in an email from July, 2015. ”
The company you keep. The article link provided states that Thiel’s and Karp’s politics were at opposite sides, Thiel’s being for Trump.
That doesn’t negate the fact that he cofounded a CIA-based company that does business with, for example, the government and the healthcare industry and who’s billionaire CEO and cofounder is an avowed socialist who chats with John Podesta and supports Hillary.
