A very good boy just got hit by a car. Best case scenario he is about to be three legged. I'm trying not to think about worst case. My son is inconsolable. Pray for him too.
If y'all will excuse, I believe I'm finishing this bottle of whiskey tonight. The last hour and a half has been the toughest I've had in a while. I can't read any more Fauci shit right now. I can't.
Thanks for listening, love you all, needed to vent.
Like everyone else here, I am pulling for your pup ❤️ please keep us posted.
Won't know until morning. Will update.
Can I say again how much I love you guys.
I had my boy read all your well wishes and prayers. It consoled him in a way I hadn't managed to. We are trying to not think about it, about to play a board game. Bottle is staying on the shelf. Grown up shit is hard.
Doggo is a black lab named Onyx. With luck he'll answer to tricycle after a while. He was in so much pain, but when I called his name he tried to get up and walk to me. I cannot shake that vision. I love him so much, we all do. He's the patriarch of the yard, we have two pups he sired and he's got some grand pups around town too.
Wish I could respond to you all individually, but I'm getting called to the table as it is. Seriously, love you all.
Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, as with all things.
Sounds like Onyx has a wonderful family that loves him to pieces - all dogs should be so lucky.
I saw a tripod at the park last weekend, was doing just fine and playing with two others, no big deal, doggos don't care.
We are looking forward to your update...
We are praying for you, your son, and Onyx. I'm an old geezer. Had a few times when a dog was my only friend. Had a few times when Jack Daniels was my only friend. Both helped me get through some pretty rough patches. Good on you for the bottle on the shelf for the moment. Stay strong for your son. Onyx will handle himself, he is in comfort knowing you and your son are there for him. I have a strange suspicion that he will come through fully intact. God Bless...
Fingers crossed for you all. Hopefully Onyx will be OK. Good decision to leave the bottle on the shelf.
It's never the wrong time to do the next right thing. We had a great night(considering), played Carcassonne until the wee hours. Sure was a better choice than wallowing in self pity and getting shit faced.
Good lesson for the boys too.
