Which is why I call it out the way I do. If Doomer feels insecure or pissed off by the fact that I don't take them seriously and make them look stupid, then I have accomplished what I set out to do. If they don't like it, they can stop dooming. Doomers are seeking validation and when they aren't then they're likely having a moment and need to vent frustrations, which perfectly acceptable. However, you are correct, a constant state of dooming is not appropriate and needs to be called out at every opportunity.
