Why don't they just use concrete road barriers to stop the lava flow, like they did in that movie Volcano. When a volcano erupted under Los Angeles, Tommy Lee Jones was able to stop the lava flow using a few bull dozers, some concrete roadway barriers and fire hoses (after, of course, having a racially sensitive moment and period of understanding with the oppressed Ice Cube). :>)
We can do that on the island of LaPalma, but without the racial garbage.
That movie was a classic Stink-Bomb. It had one of the dumbest movie lines of all times. Tommy Lee Jones was in charge of Emergency Management for the entire Los Angeles County. When told that magma was erupting in the subways and under the city... he looked into the camera and asked "What is magma?" Experts then had to explain it to him.
I know.

Whoever wrote that movie line should die.
