I appreciate how articulate he is, and his passion for truth. But, he lost me when he explained that he doesn't care if Jesus was a real person, or not, and when he simply describes Jesus as an allegorical figure. What that would mean, then, is that the blood sacrifice that Jesus made for us is not real, and that we have not been saved. Well... sorry... but I choose to believe that Jesus is God and sacrificed himself to defeat Satan in the spiritual war, and His blood covenant triumphed--which is why we say we have already won. But, we must choose to believe this, and we must choose to behave accordingly.
His point about being a fake-Christian is well-taken, and there are many. But to go so far as to say that Jesus is an allegory is putting Man and Ego right back up at the top of the food chain where Lucifer wants us to think we are.
Non-literal or secular interpretations of the Bible, like this guy's, or Jordan Peterson's, can definitely help people find Christ in their own way. In the atheist's mind, there's a mental barrier in place that prevents even reading the Bible. Any thought of religion or God is immediately rejected because it is seen as supernatural, or without evidence, or anti-science. This is why many Christian vs. atheist debates get constantly hung up on evolution, geology, etc. Not that these are unimportant, but going from an atheist, scientism perspective to a literal interpretation of the Bible requires far too much change in belief in one go. Secular interpretations or discussions of the Bible can open people's minds up to the actual message and the wisdom in the Bible, while circumventing the mental block that science worship puts in place. Once one begins to understand the Bible's teachings, that opens the door to belief.
This is EXACTLY right. Without the literal existence of Jesus, there is no Christianity. Jesus is not a philosopher who came with a set of theological or socio-ethical principles to discuss--as C.S. Lewis notes in Mere Christianity: he is either the Son of the Living God and part of the Trinity or he was a madman and Christianity is predicated on a lie. It's amazing to see someone preach about false Christianity while propagandizing false Christianity.
I. ENJOY. SEEING. YOUR. POOR. ATTEMPTS. AT. CREATING. DISORDER.
That's my safety. YOU are my lil safety blanket. Because you lack wit, creativity and intelligence, I sleep better at night. If you fed fellas was as smart as you thunk, the Patriots would be in real trouble.
Imo most Jesus follows follow Satanists lite....the blood sacrifice is satanism...this is what they do eat the flesh and drink the blood to be saved from undergoing soul cleansing process when the body dies.....no one else can save you from your karma...you keep getting the same lessons until you learn correct way......to even think it's ok to ask someone else to do this for you or allow you to skip this part is childish. Satan isn't real...there is duality here .. opposits in this world not above. So there isn't good and evil god and sstan...darl and light are the same thing.
Definitely going to watch this. I ponder this subject often. I’ve met quite a few con artists that play the Christian card right off the bat. I have learned to trust no one. Thanks for sharing.
Keeping the Law will not (cannot save) you; for if a works-based salvation where the only requirement, Jesus died in vain. There are other cults who require baptism for salvation. Works + Faith. Be careful that you do not follow anything that takes you from the SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL.
I suggest you read Galatians, wherein Paul warns a church who has taken up a works based gospel (circumcision and keeping of the law) that they are in spiritual danger if they continue in the Jews' religion.
By grace are you saved through faith; and not of works, lest any man should boast.
Entire church cliques are involved, this thing I have experienced firsthand. And there are large and small churches and church leadership who are ruled and protected by Freemasons. I have preached against Freemasonry from the pulpit and saw the results for myself. It's not just the Southern Baptist Convention, it's also in Baptist fundamentalist churches as well.
Scriptural Addendum For Clarity:
(1) But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
(2) For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
(3) unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
(4) treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
(5) holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these.
(6) For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
(7) always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
(8) And just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected as regards the faith.
(9) But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, as also that of those two came to be. (2 Timothy 3:1-9)
Lots of folks were raised around Freemasonry. The kids were in Demolay and Job's Daughters, wives/moms were in the Eastern Star and had a lot of fun. Many people have a hard time when others denigrate Freemasonry. "MY dear old granddad wasn't a Satanist pedophile!!! My dear old granddad helped raise countless dollars for the needy!!!"
People just don't understand that the dear old granddads provide the philanthropic cover and pay the due$ for the pure evil at the top.

Just my personal experience.
I agree with that. Like stepping stones... and once you take the first step (by choice), God's grace guides you towards Him.

I think this is why he makes such an effort to say he is not concerned with the history of Jesus. He tries to sidestep the reality... but fails.
We really need a really real Jesus. Nothing else will do.
No, I mean are you provided with guarantees? Safeties?
I have blessed assurance--the greatest gurantee possible. But there is no safety for any of us, and I'm not looking for any.
I think I answered that a moment ago.

Ooooh. Deep, dewd. Dark and light are the same thing. Except the difference becomes clear when you try to read a book in the dark.
As the. young monk in thecmatrix said....there is no book....
I'll loan you one. I've got a bunch.

I recommend all his lectures and seminars. Just keep listening over and over.
He talks about what he says is the real Christianity here with Bob from Cincinnati.

Sooooo, he keeps the Sabbath then?
Cause anyone not keeping God's Holy Sabbath is a fake ass christian to begin with.
“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”
Maybe Jesus is a fake ass Christian.

I found Jesus in my heart, and for the longest time denied who he truly was for fear of being batshit crazy.
Turns out it was just that, a fear.
