I remember when Reagon became president.
Work went from being reasonable to feeling like you got hit by a train.
STARTED TO SEE MORE PLANE CRASHES: On August 5, 1981, President Ronald Reagan begins firing 11,359 air-traffic controllers striking in violation of his order for them to return to work. The executive action, regarded as extreme by many, significantly slowed air travel for months. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/reagan-fires-11359-air-traffic-controllers
MORE HOMELESS AND CRIMINALLY INSANE: In California, for example, the number of patients in state mental hospitals reached a peak of 37,500 in 1959 when Edmund G. Brown was Governor, fell to 22,000 when Ronald Reagan attained that office in 1967, and continued to decline under his administration and that of his successor, Edmund G. Brown Jr. The senior Mr. Brown now expresses regret about the way the policy started and ultimately evolved. ''They've gone far, too far, in letting people out,'' he said in an interview. https://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/30/science/how-release-of-mental-patients-began.html
TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS: The trickle-down model was popularized by the Reagan administration’s vast capital gains and income tax cuts and its promotion of largely unfettered capitalism throughout the 1980s. Of course the rich don't let one penny trickle down. https://brownpoliticalreview.org/2019/11/the-fallacy-and-persistence-of-trickle-down-economics/

It actually bothers me a bit that President Trump thinks Reagan was so great. I felt the downfall of America beginning with him. Many people Trump has supported have stabbed him in the back.
