I got into watching tank videos today... yup, way down the youtube rabbit hole on my day off... typical.
A thought occurred to me; With the overwhelming prevalence of symbolism used by the nazis, why do none of the WWII era German tanks, ships, planes etc, carry a nazi swastika symbol on them, but instead the battle cross?
I know the American units carried a star, not a flag.
I could spend all day searching for historical concepts and traditions, but I figured out of you huge damn group of autists, one of you would have the answer right at hand.
The swastika was a symbol of the German socialist party, not a military emblem.
Simpler design, easier to spot at a distance.
Battleship Bismarck.

I cant really tell if that is a photo or a artist's rendering. Lemme see if I can find a pic of the Bismark on the surface with that emblem on the deck.
