I never canned until 5 years ago. This year I have 17 pints of green beans and 18 quarts of tomato sauce. And all of it from 2, raised, 4 feet square beds in a tiny yard with 4-5 hours of sun. And my lettuce keeps me in salad from March to July. It can be done, frens.
Fantastic. Good for you.
I can everything. I raised my boys on venison seaped in garlic and beef bouillon. Lol they ate it.. venison and noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy. It works..... yep!
Nice!
That’s awesome. Yes, once you get a garden growing there is much joy, satisfaction and knowledge gained. You recognise the illusion of scarcity. One tiny Lebanese cucumber Or tomato seed yields sometimes hundreds of fruits. It’s like participating in the miracle of God’s creation. I too have a few smallish plots probably totalling 80 square feet. Haven’t needed to shop for veges in years. I share the excess with friends and my girlfriend and I have started canning and blanching/freezing. Letting things go to seed is great. And it’s all organic goodness.
Dont forget about canning meats and soups.
