There was maybe only 30 of us, including a number of the soon to be unemployed. Some didn't know their plans next, one already found a job in another state. (States are small around here & there is one state which is notoriously more conservative and freedom conscious nearby)

One of the fellow protesters noted that 80 or 90% of the ones that honked in support were black or ethnic. I noted that, once again, truck drivers almost always honk in support. (After mentioning it to someone there I said they should have a strike) I'd say less than 20% of those passing by on foot were in support of us but maybe 25% of the vehicular traffic.

I got in a yelling match with some administrator that was leaving. He started it of course but I wasn't going to let his false statements stand. My last comment was: "You are a paid assassin" Otherwise, it was mostly peaceful.

This is one of the most Democratic states & we are in the most Democratic areas of that state by far. A Democratic elected official came by to give support & talk but obviously can't afford to have it be known that he or she is on our side on this. (and I'm going to honor that of course by not even telling their gender so no one can somehow figure it out) They were disappointed with their party saying "This should be one of our issues" We agreed on many things. This person knew how corrupt the Clintons are and wasn't very happy about Obama either. He or she mentioned the banks, I mentioned that I wasn't too happy that he started 6 covert wars. That person mentioned the interaction they had with Biden 10 or so years ago and didn't think well of him at all. He or she knew about 10,000 missing votes in one of the primaries in favor of Biden & also cited the Iowa controversies. {I didn't say but if it comes out someday that he also cheated in the general election this particular Democratic official would probably consider it plausible} At some point, I did confide with them I voted for Trump. We got talking & at some point they even mentioned how close all this is to Revelation in the Bible.

I don't know if anyone else that I was protesting with voted for Trump. (Like I said it's incredibly Democratic around here - I have even seen an "In Fauci we trust" sign on someone's lawn) Some criticized Trump because it was his warp speed that brought this upon us. So there was a opportunity to talk politics with my fellow protesters. Somehow, someone said something about sexism and I said "speaking of that" and with their full attention I went into details how even just 20 years ago the construction industry was pretty misogynistic. A bunch of them were listening. Then I pointed out that was just 20 years ago, 40 years ago do you know who was the first woman to lead a major construction project in New York City? I went on by saying, IDK her name but she built the Trump tower. In other words Donald Trump hired her, back when no one would hire a woman for that sort of work. He can't be sexist.

They heard me.
