It's about the port, not the ships. Remember when Obama administration allowed China to become majority owners in the ports of LA, Long Beach, and Seattle? EO 13848 seized the ports, not the ships.
Maybe it's a trap? The ports in Cali are obviously China run. But the ports in TX and FL may not be? Too risky to port in those states with the possibility of exposing the cargo??
There are two other ports, too, that China was minority owners - Miami and Houston. I don't know enough to know how that part would work out BUT I do know that Texas and Florida have other ports.
Right. Rather than unloading in West Coast ports... shippers will route their container vessels South to Panama, go through the congested Panama Canal, then up through the Caribbean and cross the Gulf of Mexico to Texas, adding 10,000 extra miles to their journey.
After that, those ships will have to make the return journey South across the Gulf and Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, before returning home, adding yet another 10,000 more miles to the trip.
It has been strongly suggested here on this site that the ships are blocked from port entry as a result of Trump's EO.
If Florida and Texas are allowing the ships in, then obviously the ships are not being blocked.

DeSantis did the same thing, a month ago. Welcome to the party Texas ;-)
Abbot goes from based to RINO shill and back again all the time. We can't all have stand up governor's like DeSantis.

I can see that happening... NOT.
Ships are already be re-directed. This isn't an offer, its happening.
He didn’t obviously read the article either face palm.
