PSALM 124. A song of ascents. Of David.
Theme: God delivers us from those who seek to destroy us. God is on the side of those who seek him.
Author: David, possibly written after his defeat of the Philistines (2 Samuel 5:17-25)

1 If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel say— 2 if the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us, 3 they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us; 4 the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, 5 the raging waters would have swept us away. 6 Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. 7 We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Study Note:
124:7, 8 Do you ever feel trapped by overwhelming odds? With God, there is always a way out because he is the Creator of all that exists. No problem is beyond his ability to solve; no circumstance is too difficult for him. We can turn to the Creator for help in our time of need, for he is on our side. God will provide a way out; we need only trust him and look for it. David compared this to a bird escaping the fowler's snare (trap).
This morning I prayed for my state's Secretary of State Elections Board. He holds an appointed position of great power and authority--he controls our elections procedures and post election audits per my state's election laws. So I prayed for God to give him integrity. I find it easier to trust a guy after I've asked God to participate in that guy's life.
Lord, thank you for participating in our lives. Thank you that we can leave things that trouble us with you. Thank you that you provide protection and truth to us as we seek you. Keep us on the righteous path. Thank you for your Son who is the way. It is in his name, my Savior's name Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Have a blessed day.
Still applies so heavily! If He'd turned His back on us, all this evil would have already engulfed us. I am so grateful He knows more than we do. :)
Yep. He's Allknowing.
