I just see something in the sky. There is no guarantee that it is in space or that there are people on it.

It is possible to make balloons in almost any shape. Obviously NASA would know people would zoom in on it. Have you never seen a children's bouncy castle inflatable at a birthday party?

Look at project Echo that I linked above. They put up a balloon and bounced a signal off it to allow for further communication.
