"Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it."

"Equalize" everyone's income and lifestyle to the level of subsistence (because "the State" needs all "excess" money for state-provided "free benefits" and to support its "administration" [elites]) and take away the hope of bettering oneself (through hard work ["initiative"]) which stokes robust economies (growth, invention, investment) and you have stagnation, despair and mediocrity (against which the people increasingly want to rebel) EVERY TIME.

It's an unworkable THEORY.
