Unfortunately I'm allergic to xylitol(throat gets sore to the point of it being genuinely painful to swallow..), but as far as treatments go, surely xylitol can't be the only substance that can be used as a nasal spray and be effective against a whole host of respiratory bacterial infections(quite a few of those ranging from legionella to tuberculosis that should be treatable/preventable with the right compound used in a nasal spray or inhaler...)
