There would be some pretty serious issues with having marines operating on US soil against a political figure.

That's why I am calling this fake news. The Marines can't do that legally.

It would be the US Marshalls most likely.

Not necessarily. The fedgov has a fair number of rules re: use and deployment of the USMC that is unique to the USMC.
