Shower = droplets of water. Maxwell was getting information drops while in prison until the guards started keeping an eye on her.

Sitting on the loo = Maxwell is dumping data out into an open pipeline = she's been openly talking. Someone who is pretending to be a friend, has been ratting on her. This "rat" has been routinely visiting her in her cell somehow. Camera? Bug?

Maxwell complained to the guard, but nothing was done until the rat went after the guard and gave him a good scare, which somehow stopped the surveillance.
