Agreed that theology is a tricky area. Moreover, it's "theory", and without an actual living relationship with God and/or Christ, it tends to create more problems than otherwise.
The issue with truth is, that because we are all imperfect, our perception and understanding of truth is also imperfect, and limited. Also, our beliefs are imperfect and limited.
This is why the relationship, based in heart and love, is absolutely critical. Many 'believe" in Jesus, but what kind of relationship do they have with him?
Our belief, and our understanding of truth, will always be limited, but if we have a living relationship with Christ, then our understanding can grow, and our beliefs can be refined, and bring us closer in the relationship.
Relationship is primary and eternal; belief is simply the method to getting there.
