Actually, not. Aussie language is very egalitarian, and even our politicians will use slang, etc. It may be strange for the US, or the UK, but in Australia, its pretty normal.

I was reading old information on small pox vaccine & “jab” was in the document. I was kinda surprised, I figured that was a word made up by non vaxers.
