this is why "it had to be this way" I think. We can only speculate if cleaning all this up was actually possible before now. Whatever the case may be, the current times are engraving a hard lesson into those of us awake, into our very souls. I'd argue that this is the only way the country could truly be saved.

None of the things that allowed all of this to occur in the first place would have changed if Trump had simply won and just started rounding people up. People would have gone right back to sleep and more importantly right back to the laziness of their daily routines whether they were awake or not.

Like you said the ignorance and laziness of the people are largely to blame for all of this which is why this operation in my opinion is so crucial. The patriots are playing the long LONG game. Whether the current times have been allowed to happen or not, it is forcing many different precipices to many different people and making them find the will to change, to break free of the enslaving comfort and safety of our daily lives and realize the responsibility we have in our communities and society.
