We cannot just stop paying taxes in Canada unless you work for yourself. Companies automatically take taxes off your pay checks. You can not pay your taxes sure. I am not sure how it works in the US but here in Canada they will freeze your bank accounts and rsps and will confiscate your home or any other asset you have. If you are on pension they will put a hold on it so explain how someone stops paying taxes.
