Taking too many vitamin D supplements over a long period of time can cause too much calcium to build up in the body (hypercalcaemia). This can weaken the bones and damage the kidneys and the heart.
It looks like the calcium levels sometimes need to be adjusted for long term high vit d uptake- I haven't put any research into this, just a heads up to potentially bear in mind / look at further.
Good thoughts. I do know this. I also take magnesium daily which breaks down any calcium into smaller molecules to prevent it from turning into calcified plaque or kidney stones and sends it straight to where it is needed.
I have blood tests 2x per year and my calcium is never out of range.

Sounds like you have it well covered then, excellent!
I was prescribed 50,000 units once a week for YEARS. My level finally became normal. Most women are prescribed that amount.
Vitamin K2 helps to counteract the calcium build up.
ThanQ fren!
