I see it more as that they are lazy. Trials are time, money, work. Most people plead out and the victims are not even told until after the fact. Back in the 90s, I had a guy out of the blue knock me down on purpose on a busy street one day. I was "in his way". Afterwards, public defender called me for my side of the story. I gave it to him. Then the DA called me and was pissed the defense had called. (Um, that's not my fault and you never said I shouldn't say anything.) Anyway, I was supposed to testify and then I got a call that they weren't going to trial and that he had pled to jail time and there was a restraining order in place. To be honest, I only saw the guy the one time and I was so dazed, I doubt I would ever recognize him again and vice versa, but it would have nice to have had some input.
That, and I think some prosecutors become numb/burnt out after awhile. I knew a guy who worked in a prosecutors office who then went to work for an an insurance company as marketing attorney advising on tax and estate planning. Completely different realms. I asked him why the change and told me "I got tired of dealing with the scum of the earth."
This doesn't excuse any if it. But I can see why it happens.
"I got tired of dealing with the scum of the earth."
This is exactly it. Because they NEVER get put away for what they've done and paid the price the law says they're supposed to pay. No real justice is ever served to the criminal. Meanwhile victims are left to suffer while criminals skate and commit more offenses. Recently had to deal with this myself after an assault.

That is a good question. I know they can be isolated.
Or is the fact they are considered the most hated in prison something we just accept? Like breakfast is the most important meal of the day?
Oh no I meant the celebrities putting Rosenbaum on a pedestal, not the fact that he got off easy.
