This seems real. As in really how they attempt to practice empathy and how they self-soothe.

Their presumptions are simply incorrect. How grim!

If we wanted to we could reach out to them at their level to help them expand their thinking. It would require skill and patience. Should we?

They each may have been abused and genuinely believe most conservative people out there are unkind and too judgmental. This is warped and easily disproven.
