My wife is Ukrainian and her mom talked to her this evening and said it is getting real bad close to all the ports. Ironically it only started to get bad after Obama was president, everything slowed down during Trump and started again with Biden. Any thoughts?

Try to get your family out if you can. Not out of panic but out of abundance of caution. Russia/Ukraine have had a weird relationship (which I'm sure you're aware of) for a long time, hard to say what will happen if (when?) Russia tries to re-absorb Ukraine.
