I see the phenomenon of planes “stuck” in the sky all the time (I live near an airport and military base), but I honestly think it’s just the trajectory and speed of the aircraft and the car I’m in while driving and seeing it happen. I’ve never once seen it happen while I wasn’t traveling in a car, so that’s all I have as evidence - but it’s enough for me.
