Asking for an exemption still sounds like people are still slaves to me.

Yep. I don't need to believe in Jesus to not have to suck their balls.

It should just be "exempt because they said no", not "religious exemption".

It is the only alternative to complying at the moment. At least they still have their jobs and can influence others.

Anyway, religion is not only related to a God. In the dictionary it also says:
