We're in a simulation and the more we call bullshit on everything the more the simulation reacts with desperation. Basically, it requires a ton of computing power to run our simulation and the more complicated we make it, the more computing power it requires - and the more corners are cut that make things seem ridiculous to us. Pretty soon we'll have obvious graphical glitches or something.
