Lots of Glowies and Debbie Downers have popped up lately trying to ruin Christmas celebrations on this forum. Sure, there's a lot of pagan stuff woven into Christian holidays. But I'm no uptight Puritan or Jehovah's Witness to cancel my beautiful, carol-filled Christmas Eve at church and Christmas Day dinner with family and friends. If these anti-Christmas judges think I'm going to hell because of this, that's their take. Ain't mine.

I do think overdone decorations and way too many presents should be curtailed...especially the holiday blow-ups and toy garbage from China. My family still gives practical gifts to one another. I sew quilts, pillows and doll clothes for my God and Grandkids. Both the boys and girls love their quilts and small amounts of money I also give to them at this time of year.

Jesus is definitely the reason I celebrate the season. I know it's not His real birthday, but it's how my family honors Him and His coming into this world. St. Nicholas was a real person, full of Christ-centered love and generosity. Bishop Nicholas and his commercialized name-sake Santa do not override God in my household. I think many here think the same.
