That's an unbiblical position. The law of God is written on men's hearts. Without God's hand holding us back form our sinful nature we couldn't love at all, only hate. And the FEAR of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom.
First assumption is you can even exist without God. Not possible. There is no place or space one can exist without the presence of God. God is imbued in all... if it were not, it would not and could not exist. So the love of God is ubiquituous. There is no exception.
We live in a 3D world (our awareness) that is based on a construct of dichotomy. That is, up cannot exist without down. Left without right...etc. Love and Fear are two of this basic construct. Free will is the navigational tool we use to move within it.
So, consquently, Fear (or Love) is a choice. There is immense power there. The most powerful gift all humans have. By design, both exist. It is the contrast built-in the design. Think about this for a second. How could you experience cold if you were unaware of hot? You could not. You could not experience going upward if you have never experienced going downward. So by design both are important and necessary.
Further imagine, within your lifetime of experience with people you do like and people you do not. Have you ever met someone that demands you worship the ground they walk on? How about people that you intuitively fear? Are these attributes you admire? No it is not. Yet, contained within your position, you project these same characteristics upon the God you folllow... and then admire these same characteristics you dispise in humans.
Now further imagine an all-powerful God. He has no limitations. All knowledge. All power. Such an entity has no need. Everything is already his. Need has no meaning to a God. So why would such a being "need" or "Demand" your worship? Demand or need your fear of him? This makes no sense.
To fear anything is a choice we (as humans) make. Not a decision demanded of us. Think of all the fears you have. (we all have some) Why on earth, would you place your God in this catagory? Do you really believe such a God would desire you fear him? Or prefer you Love him? Think about this from God's perspective.

I agree wit this which is why I never took the position you can exist without God. You CAN however be in open rebellion against him much like the worldview of Aristophanes, the person you quoted. An unbiblical position.

You are comparing God, who is perfect and both demands our worship (since that is why we were created) and deserves it, With men who do not. HUGE category error. The chief prepose of man is to Glorify God and worships Him forever. This is such a basic Christian fact that it's in most confessions. Yet here you are rejecting it.
The problem is you have a 2lb brain and are trying to understand an infinite God while projecting on Him the qualities of men.
And you do so while CONTINUING to misrepresent and incorrectly define what that particular word "FEAR" means in the context as I have explained several times. It's reverence.
You are too intellectually dishonest to continue a productive conversation. You continue to misrepresent me and my position but also what the Bible says,
