When Masons take the "oath" it's my understanding they have to remove their clothing, their wedding rings, anything that shows "allegiance" to any other power - including God. This is why it's anti-Christian. Without question many who join are decent people - but I personally believe, they were misled. All that being said...I also think the Masons as we know them today, were perhaps not what they once were...and have morphed in some fashion over the years. I'm no expert on the history.
