It worked for me. The urge to die is the urge to return to God, but God is not further than this very moment, it is only the ego that creates the perception of separation from God. The Bible expressly forbids the use of substances like drugs and alcohol for the purpose of intoxication.

Jesus gave "good wine" to people who were already drunk.
Now tell me where you think the bible says intoxication is forbidden?
